Unbelievable, Jeff: Stelling to leave Soccer Saturday role at end of season

  • Host calls time on 27-year run at the helm of programme
  • Presenter will leave ‘the best job in the world’ in May

Jeff Stelling is to step down as host of Sky Sports’ Soccer Saturday programme, ending his 27-year run as host of the unlikely success story which became a core part of weekend television viewing for many football fans.

The journalist made the announcement on Saturday afternoon’s edition of the programme, saying he had come to the “incredibly difficult decision that this will be my last season” and would step down from the host’s chair in May.
